Singer in Mumbai

Shahid Mallya, the very name sort of calms you down. Well, he’s none other than the man with the soulful voice who sang, ‘Rabba Main Toh Mar Gaya Oye’ and ‘Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi’ from the film Mausam way back in 2011. And though the film didn’t do very well at the box-office, its songs made us fall in love with his voice and pumped up his playback career. And ever since Mausam, every song he sings continues to inch up to the top of the charts each year! Shahid Mallya hails from Sri Ganganagar and is a well-trained Indian singer who has set base in Mumbai since 2002. Starting his career with playback singing for Indian TV serials, he first tasted fame with Mausam. Some of his other beautiful songs include ‘Do Dhaari Talwaar’ from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. He stole many hearts throughout 2012 with his songs ‘Sarphira’ from Sadda Adda, ‘Kyun Gayee’ and ‘Sona Sahiba’ from Dil Tenu Pyaar Karda, ‘Mann Jaage Sari Raat’ from Bittoo Boss and the title track from Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. He created the then youth anthem ‘Kukkad’ from Student of the Year. His songs not only entertain, but also soothe your soul. He’s sung ‘Khamoshiyaan’ from Inkaar and ‘Koi Umeed’ from Rajdhani Express. Most recently he’s created magic with ‘Saaiyaan’ from Gunday and ‘Iski Uski’ from 2 States! Shahid is undoubtedly one of Bollywood music’s shining stars and is definitely here to stay!
